Sunday, May 17, 2020, Auteuil. - A prep race to the Alain du Breil 4yo Hurdle race (Gr1), the Amadou 4yo Hurdle race (Gr2) is run four weeks prior. Several well-bred jumpers were at the start and it was Kool Has (Martaline)'s turn to prevail. Bred by Hamel Stud born in Normandy, the François Nicolle-trained gelding, representing Jean-Claude Rouget, Olivier Carli and his trainer, made way in the final turn and took a decisive edge between the last two jumps, winning by more than five lengths over Gant de Velours (Poliglote), who was running his first Group race, and the favourite Moises Has (Martaline), also bred by Hamel Stud and trained by François Nicolle.

Twice a hurdle winner at Chateaubriant and then Auteuil last summer, Kool Has finished the season with a third place in the Georges de Talhouët-Roy 3yo Hurdle race (Gr2), and a second place in the Cambacérès 3yo Hurdle Race (Gr1). He hadn't run since then.

Bought for €85,000 at the Arqana Summer sale, Kool Has is out of Kotkibed (Astarabad), a winner over hurdles at Moulins. Her second dam is the champion hurdler Kotkita (Subotica), winner of a Cambacérès 3yo Hurdle Race (Gr1) at Auteuil, and herself out of a sister to the great chaser Kotkijet.

After Kool Has, Kotkibed gave a Saint des Saints filly in 2017, a colt now gelded by Ballingarry born in 2018, and finally a Masked Marvel filly in 2019.
