Thursday, September 2, 2021, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - Fifth victory in ten years for the British raiders in this Prix d'Arenberg (Gr3), a 2-year-olds' race contested over the straight 5 furlongs at Longchamp. After Sam Crisford (Al Raya), or Hugo Palmer (Afandem), it's George Boughey’s turn to beat the French at ParisLongchamp with an Irish filly, Corazon (Markaz).
With her good draw (3), Corazon was able to take the rail easily with Help (Dream Ahead). She could also speed up over 2 out, even letting the favourite Dizzy Bizu (Caravaggio) slip off to her left. The latter gave her a good response, but 100 yards from home, Corazon proved to be the most resolute and prevailed by a neck. The podium of this Prix d'Arenberg is uniquely female as Illustrating (Showcasing) climbs on the third step. Race time: 57 ”36.
Corazon was running on for the first time on turf this Thursday as she had opened her record this Summer on the all-weather at Lingfield. Away from top prices and big ring battles, Corazon left the 2020 Tattersalls sales with Nick Bradley Racing signed for only £ 11,000.
