As might be expected despite the doubts expressed by her connections about her ability to yielding ground, the 5-year-old mare Coronet (Dubawi) confirmed Sunday at Deauville her Grand Prix Saint-Cloud (Gr1) win this summer on the Darley Prix Jean Romanet (Gr1), last big championship of the meeting.

She followed the leaders of the race and dominated them to keep herself out of reach of the good finisher With You (Dansili), second less than a length in front of the tenacious Irish Red Tea (Sakhee), who achieved, without doubt, the best rating of her career for her first attempt at this level, her 35th outing, just two times more than the winner!

Coronet is out of Approach (Darshaan), a Group-placed sister to Aussie Rules who also gave birth to Midas Touch (Galileo), second in the Irish Derby (Gr1), then in the Saint-Leger (Gr1). Her connections now aim one of the British Champions' Day events on October 19th at Ascot.
