June 12, 2021, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - A faller at the open-ditch in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris (Gr1), Feu Follet (Kapgarde) took resounding revenge in the 134th edition of the Prix des Drags Chase (Gr2), which he won at the expense of the front-running Poly Grandchamp (Poliglote), who had long tried to challenge him and finished second at six lengths. Recently winner of the Prix du President de la République (French National, Gr3), Fanfaron Spécial (Gentlewave) finished at seven lengths for third place.

After Gardons Le Sourire was declared a non-runner and the early fall of Royalclety’s rider, there were only four runners left in the race, led by the 9-year-old veteran Poly Grandchamp, always dashing, with Fanfaron Spécial. In the final bend, Feu Follet attacked and his dominance became irresistible in the run-in.

Winner of the Clermont-Tonnerre Chase (Gr3) at the start of the season, Feu Follet then finished fourth in the Murat Chase (Gr2), and finally second in the Ingré Chase (Gr3) won by Le Berry before his Grand Steeple hiccup.

Feu Follet is out of Folle de Toi (Sageburg) bred by the Écurie D (Jean-Pierre Dubois). His dam ran eight times without success over the flat and Feu Follet is her first foal. She is a full sister to Fou et Sage (Sageburg), second in the d'Indy 4yo Hurdle race and then in the Pépinvast 4yo Hurdle race (Gr3), behind Bonito du Berlais. Folle de Toi recently gave a Triple Threat colt (withdrawn from the November 2019 Deauville sale) in training with David Cottin, a son of Waldpark and another by Kapgarde.
