Initiated by France Galop in the second semester, the reform of the juvenile program has already begun to bear fruit as the betting turnover on these races has increased by 13% , mostly thanks to the creation of new handicaps. As of November 30, there is a 27% increase in the number of starters. The number of juvenile races with less than 8 starters, below which the turnover of bets collapses, is down by 30% (20 races). The betting turnover on these 68 races of youngsters has actually increased from 24 to 26.9 million euros, while the overall betting figure has fallen by about 3%.

Yet the number of 2yos in training as of September 1st is down by 3% (9% for the Paris region).

François Boulard, director of the Program and Regions at France Galop, was able to introduce the following steps, applying the same beginners-maiden-Class 1-Class 2-handicaps system, more readable and open than the previous categorization.
