Sunday, July 16, 2023, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). - Ten years after Vorda's success at Maisons-Laffitte, the €130,000 Prix Robert Papin (Gr2) goes to a filly trained in France, with the overwhelming favourite Ramatuelle (Justify) completely dominating the race.

Representing NBA star Tony Parker's Infinity Nine Racing, Hong Kong's Kwok family and their partners, she took the lead early, with the recent Yacowlef (L) winner Myconian (Magna Grecia) by her side. About two furlongs out though, the filly pulled away from her rival, quickly putting herself out of reach of the late challenge from the Irish contender His Majesty (No Nay Never), who finished second at four lengths, after securing three Groupplaces in Ireland and England. Classic Flower (Calyx) finished well along the rail to claim third place, less than a length behind.

Ramatuelle had started her career with a clear victory over 1,000 metres in April at Chantilly before encountering the excellent Beauvatier at Saint-Cloud, and then winning the Prix du Bois Longines (Gr3).

Ramatuelle had started her career with a convincing victory over 5 furlongs in April at Chantilly before settling for second place behind the excellent Beauvatier at Saint-Cloud, then winning the Prix du Bois Longines (Gr3).

The winner's dam, Raven's Lady (Raven's Pass), was purchased for $300,000 by Yeguada Centurion at the Keeneland breeding sales in November 2019, coming out of training. In Europe, she won the Summer Hill Stakes (Gr3) and the Goldene Peitsche (Gr2), over 6 furlongs, at age 4. She won an optional claiming race on the turf over 1,500 metres in the USA.

Ramatuelle is her first foal and was sold for €100,000 to her current owners at Arqana. The third dam produced the excellent Best of the Bests (Machiavellian), winner of the Prix d'Ispahan (Gr1).
