October 1st, 2022, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). – Trained by Karl Burkein Yorkshire, Al Qareem (Awtaad) won his first Group race in the €200,000 Qatar Prix Chaudenay (Gr2) with Ryan Moore.

In a race led at fast pace by Whileuweresleeping (Golden Horn), Al Qareem (Awtaad) was never far off the pace. Yet, while the leader faded in the straight, the 3-year-old gelding took over and fought off Sober (Camelot)'s challenge on his inside, winning by a nose. Less than one length behind, Duke de Sessa (Lope de Vega) finished well in third.

Bred by Shadwell, the winner now races for Nick Bradley Racing 33. He's by the Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Atwaad (Cape Cross), out of the unraced Moqla (Teofilo). He's her first foal and was bought for £27,000 at the Shadwell Tattersalls sales in October 2021.
