Sunday, September 4, 2022, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). – This 66th edition of the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (Gr1) was marked by the accident sustained by the favourite, Coroebus (Dubawi). The winner of the Two Thousand Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes could not be saved after breaking a leg at mid-stretch.

However, Dreamloper (Lope de Vega), already the winner in May of the Prix d'Ispahan (Gr1) on this course, won by almost six lengths, proving her liking of the Parisian scene. Placed behind the leaders from the start with her draw 2, she was able to move out of the front-runner’s God Blessing (Siyouni) trail when Texas (Wootton Bassett), who had travelled near him, began to level off and "float" for his first outing with blinders on. God Blessing gave way to finish and lost second place in the last hundred yards to Order of Australia (Australia), who travelled the entire outside the field but used his stamina to stay on for the bets placing, with The Revenant (Dubawi), who kept going after trailing him. He took 3rd place from God  Blessing by a short neck in the very end.

French One Thousand Guineas winner Mangoustine (Dark Angel) was a non-runner.

Dreamloper had already made a big impression in winning the Prix d'Ispahan (Gr1) last May by two lengths over French veteran Wally. She had just won for her return by a nose in the Dahlia Stakes (Gr2) at Newmarket over 9 furlongs. She had also finished third in the Sun Chariot Stakes (Gr1) the previous fall, at the age of 4. She showed up at the races for the first time in July at 3 and won for her first attempt in a Group race a year later at Ascot in the Valiant Stakes (Gr3), a fillies-and-mares race over the mile.

However, since her Parisian May win, she had failed twice in Ireland and Britain, in the Pretty Polly Stakes (Gr1) and in the Nassau Stakes (Gr1).

Bred in Ireland by Olivia Hore, Dreamloper is out of Livia's Dream (Teofilo), a Listed-winner at Kempton Park over 1m1/2. Her gelding brother was sold for £27,000 late last year in Tattersalls. The family goes back to the excellent Yawl (Rainbow Quest), dam of Prowess (Famous Painter), a Cheshire Oaks (L) third at Chester, who ended her career rather anonymously at the Croisé-Laroche under the training of Richard Gibson but produced the winner of the 2013 Epsom Oaks Talent (New Approach), dam of the talented Ambition (Dubawi ), double winner of the Prix Fille de l'Air (Gr3) and placed of the Prix Jean Romanet (Gr1).

Dreamloper's yearling sister by Golden Horn is listed at the October Tattersalls sales.
