Saturday, September 16, 2023, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). – It was a somewhat frenetic race, but the victory of Immensitude (Lawman) over 1m1f in the €80,000 Prix Bertrand de Tarragon (Gr3) was beyond dispute. Homebred by Isabelle Corbani, she dominated the final phase after running in fifth position. She eventually left her closest rivals three lengths behind, with her stablemate at Stéphane Wattel's, Autumn Starlight (Lope de Vega), bravely digging deep to hold off the strong challenge from Life in Motion (Sea the Stars), who had been bearing down on her at the top of the climb. Left Sea (Frankel) finished a nose behind in fifth place after travelling in good place, in a field replete with highly-renowned sires. The exacta was filled by two 3-year-old fillies.

Immensitude was making her third attempt at this level after two placings and a win in the Prix Finlande (L) last spring. The filly was sold for €80,000 at the Deauville sales to Paul Nataf but races under her breeder's colors. She comes from the extended family of the excellent Cassandra Go, Verglas, Halfway to Heaven, and even Magical. The winner's younger brother, the gelding Contentious Sould (City Light), won his maiden at Clairefontaine in early August and is followed by an Iffraaj filly born this year.
