Sunday, 16th July 2023, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). - With relative ease, after biding her time in the €80,000 Darley Prix Chloé (Gr3) for 3-year-old fillies over 9 furlongs, the English raider Araminta (Gleneagles) held off her best rival Excellent Truth (Cotai Glory), who had trouble finding the opening before unleashing her effort.
Indeed, the frontrunners suddenly faltered two out, and Excellent Truth, boxed in their wake, was desperate for an option... Riding the eventual winner, who had been flanking the leaders on a second row, Gérald Mossé had foreseen the situation and was able to release his partner gradually. Ultimately, Araminta comfortably maintained a good length lead, while further behind, nearly two lengths away, Immensitude (Lawman) finished strongly but had to settle for third place.
The winner was purchased for £82,000 at the October sales at Tattersalls. Her dam, Mince (Medicean), bred by the Rothschild family, won a Group 3 sprint across the Channel. Already a Listed winner at Goodwood in May, she is currently the best foal out of Mince.
