Gérard Augustin-Normand reigns over Cagnes

At the end of the Cagnes-sur-mer flat meeting, spread on 19 days and 147 races, Gérard Augustin-Normand end up as the leading owner with seven wins and € 164,263 in earnings and premiums. The Normandy-bred owner-breeder is ahead of Theresa Marnane, who has three wins and € 87,210, and Kamel Chehboub's Haras de la Gousserie, which has won twice for a total gain of € 82,158.

Jean-Claude Rouget is once again crowned leading trainer with 14 successes and nearly €350,000, in front of Christophe Escuder (6 winq and over €240,000), and the Vermeulen team (10 wins and €234,806) neck and neck with Frédéric Rossi, who has saddled seven winners and taken €234,601, that is only €205 less than his rival.

As for the riders, Maxime Guyon takes a flying start with 21 wins against 12 for Pierre-Charles Boudot and Cristian Demuro, and 8 for Christophe Soumillon.

A few reassuring figures from the tote were welcomed at France Galop. The number of runners was up 4% this year, and betting urnover grew by over 1%. The number of races that generated more than one million euros in bets jumped from 4 to 19.
