November 7, 2021, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - She caused a minor upset when she won last time out in the The Fellow - Marquise de Moratalla 4yo Chase (Gr3), after two previous wins, but the filly Let Me Love (Authorized) has confirmed with style as she fought it to the end to land the Maurice Gillois 4yo Chase (Gr1), the Championship of her generation, by a narrow margin over a brave Sel Jem (Masked Marvel). Homebred and trained by William Menuet, who had never won a Gr1 race before, just like her rider Olivier Jouin, Let Me Love quietly trailed the early leaders Hades (Masterstroke) and then Chorail Debelair (Chœur du Nord), whom she passed in the last turn to finally overcome Sel Jem, who briefly led after the last but couldn't quite hold on to it, falling by a short head. Long-held in the rear, Gold Tweet (On Est Bien) finished well in 3rd at over 3 lengths. Almost brought down at the bi open-ditch, the favourite Le Listrac (Balko) couldn't come back in the race, although he finished 5th behind Chorail Debelair.

Let Me Love is out of Lady d’Ogenne (Sassassian), a winner once and twice a second in the Grand Steeple Chase de Craon (Listed Race), also for William Menuet. Let Me Love was her first foal and has. now finished 11 times in the final 5 in 13 races.

It is a lovely bloodline as Lady d’Ogenne is the sister to two good cross-country horses: Océan Austral (Antarctique), winner of the Grand Cross de Fontainebleau, and Uniketat (Vision d’Etat), winner of the Grand Cross de Pau. Lady d’Ogenne's offspring never went to the sales but some participated in conformation shows like her Motivator 2-year-old won the Haras du Pin contest in 2021.
