Sunday, September 5, 2021, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - Winner of two consecutive handicaps in Compiègne and Vichy, a double which had got her a 15 pounds hike on the weights scale, the 4-year-old mare Bubble Smart (Intello) competed in her first group race over the 15.5 furlongs of the 180th Prix Gladiateur (Gr3). ZAK Bloodstock's homebred nonetheless repelled all attacks after leading mist of the race, eventually gaining the upper hand over first challenger Karlstad (Stormy River), who had relayed her at the bottom of the hill and would stay on in second at a length, a length and a half in front of Call the Wind (Frankel), who hadn't run for 200 days and his Riyadh defeat.
Trained by Mikel Delzangles, Bubble Smart was bred by Zakaria Hakam. She is a sister to the good Bubble Chic (Chichicastenango), second in the Prix du Jockey Club won by Reliable Man, and Bubble Gift (Nathaniel), winner of the last Prix Hocquart (Gr2) and last foal out of the maiden mare Bubble Back (Grand Lodge).
