Sunday, February 6th, 2022, Pont-Long Racecourse (Pau). - The last Sunday of the Winter meeting at Pau includes twelve races, five of which are run on the all-weather. However, the main ones will be run over jumps. They are the Grand Cross de Pau Reverdy (Prix Gaston de Bataille, L), the 135th edition of the Grande course de Haies de Pau Hurdle (Prix Max de Ginestet, L), and the Antoine de Palaminy 4yo Chase (L). Two days after Chataignier (Sri Putra)'s win in the Camille Duboscq 4yo Hurdle (L), eight 4yos should line up. The best rated in the lot is Nambiti (Walk in the Park), a recent second on this course.

Ten horses aged 7 to 11 were confirmed to compete over the 4 mile-long Grand Cross de Pau Reverdy (Prix Gaston de Bataille, L). Six of these have won one of their two last races … Unbeaten for one year, Saint Godefroy (Doctor Dino), who is owned by the Quinton family, has won his last 5 cross-countries including two this season. Trained by Patrice Quinton, he's won the John Henry Wright Cross Country last time out, beating Blason d’Or (Nidor), whom he faces again in this Crystal Cup Challenge round under even better weight conditions.

Non-runner in the Grand Prix de la Ville de Nice Chase (Gr3) at Cagnes-sur-Mer on January 9, Berjou (Holy Roman Emperor) heads to the Grande Course de Haies de Pau Hurdle race (L) this time, on a racecourse he's never been before. He will also give two kilos to the AQPS Hêtre Rouge (Saddex), who sports the colours of the late Magalen Bryant and won his three races at Pau this Winter, both chasing and hurdling …

The first race is off at 11h35, live on Equidia and our website. The very last meeting of the season at Pau is due Wednesday, Fabruary 9th, with 8 races over jumps on the card.
