Sunday, November 8, 2020, Auteuil. - The odds-on favourite of the €135,000 Haras d'Étreham Bournosienne 3yo Fillies Hurdle race (Gr2), the fillies version of the Cambacérès 3yo Hurdle race (Gr1), Hôtesse du Chenêt (Martaline) won a third consecutive race without much hassle, even if she was bumped on before the race in front of the exercise hurdle race. Wearing a hood for the first time, the Magalen Bryant-owned grey filly followed the leader Fortunes Melody (Yorgunnabelucky) until the last turn. She then accelerated to take over and clinched a confident lead to score easily by 3.5 lengths. Fortunes Melody stayed on in second place. For her debut at this level of competition after two wins, Starlet du Mesnil (No Risk at All) tried to launch her challenge early in the last straight at the centre of the course but she had to oblige, finishing third at 13 lengths.

Obeone (Muhtathir) and Haie d'Honneur (Fame and Glory) had been withdrawn while Elite Rock (Masked Marvel) fell once again at the last, just like in her debut race recently.

It was a fourth success in the race for owner Magalen Bryant, whose colours had already scored in this event with Viviane Royale (2012), Whetstone (2017), Want of a Nail (2019). Hotesse du Chenêt's trainer Marcel Rolland, for his part, celebrated his third victory after those of Bulougun (2002) and Viviane Royale (2012).

Hôtesse du Chenet is out of the good Tanaïs du Chenet (Poliglote), a Cambacérès 3yo Hurdle race (Gr1) winner at Auteuil in 2010. At stud, after a career which allowed her to earn nearly € 560,000 in prizemoney, she also gave Gary du Chenet (Martaline), winner of the Gelas Handicap Chase at Auteuil, more recently the 2yo Ibiza du Chenet (Manduro) and a colt by Doctor Dino born in 2019.
