Westonne (Mansonnien) is an amazing dam! Saturday at Auteuil, her 3-year-old daughter Want of a Nail (Kapgarde) won the Haras d'Etreham - Prix Bournosienne Hurdle (Gr2) leading all the way, bravely, as she had to fend off a mighty attack from Grace Féline (Balko) all the way to the post. She won by two lengths for American owner  Magalen Bryant, who had come from the United States to cheer home her new champion.

This is the fourth group winner out of the broodmare managed by Benoît and Marie-Christine Gabeur. Westonne has already produced So French (Poliglote), a "Grand Steeple" winner, Device (Poliglote), who has won 15 hurdle races including 11 at Group level, and Whetstone (Saint des Saints), winner of the Ferdinand Dufaure Chase (Gr1). Before this, Want of A Nail had run six times without winning, until her successful, latest trial at Auteuil. It seems she has taken a liking to victory!
