Leaders in 2020: Pariente wins on every table

The leading French flat breeder in 2020 is Guy Pariente, who puts an end to the domination of two great French studs, those of the Aga Khan and the Wertheimer brothers. Indeed, these two farms have shared the first places without interruption since 2008, in particular, thanks to the large numbers since both have fielded at least one hundred horses each season. This is still true in 2020. Only this time Guy Pariente beat them with "only" 76 products, nine of which have won at Listed or Group level. More singular still, the fact that seven of these nine horses were sired by a stallion from Pariente's Haras de Colleville, namely Galiway or Kendargent. The only exceptions are Restiany, a Listed winner by Frankel, and Styledargent, a son of Style Vendôme.

Three of the four best sires of 2-year-olds in France in 2020 are based in Colleville, since Goken, this ranking's best, is also at Guy Pariente's stud farm! It is a thunderous victory for the breeder-owner and his relatively young organization since the stud was created from scratch in 2007.

Guy Pariente's foals brought him € 317,909 in breeders' premiums in 2020. We find in second and third places Wertheimer & Frère (€ 254,934) and the Aga Khan studs (€ 215,845), followed by Franklin Finance, Gérard Augustin-Normand's own breeding operation, another French breeder whose breeding has been successful thanks to top-notch sires.
