July 14, 2022, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). – Offered at evens after his Henry II Stakes (Gr2) win at Sandown in May, the British raider Quickthorn (Nathaniel) led home the field of the Prix Maurice de Nieuil – Radio FG (Gr2) over the Parisian 1m6f trip. With his main challenger The Good Man (Manduro) locked behind him by the rail all the way, Lady Blyth's 5-year-old gelding accelerated again in the last straight and held on as Adrian Pratt and partners' The Good Man was thrown into the battle but finally faded in the last 100 yards. On the contrary, the mare Jannah Flower (Olympic Glory) came from last to finish well and take second place at one length. The Good Man stayed on in third.

Quickthorn has now won 6 races out of 15. Only beaten by Trueshan and Princess Zoe this term, he had finished his 2021 campaign with a disappointing 9th place in the Prix Royal-Oak on this course but has improved dramatically since then.

Bred by Lemington Grange Stud, Quickthorn is out of Daffydowndilly (Oasis Dream), whose dam Art Eyes (Halling) is a Listed winner of High Chaparral's family. A brother to Quickthorn, named Le Boulevardier (Champs Elysees), was sold for £ 4,000 at Goffs in May 2021 and won a point-to-point since. A Sir Percy 4-year-old filly, Lady Percival, won at 2, while the 3-year-old Citystreak (Cityscape) has just won his first race over Wolves' all-weather on July 11.
