The 2019 renewal of the Prix de Meautry Barrière (Gr3), on Sunday at Deauville, is a first test for the 3-year-old sprinters against their older rivals. Spinning Memories (Arcano) leads the home brigade of aged horses. From England, Keystroke (Pivotal) is now specialized on such 6 furlongs races. Comedia Eria (Lope de Vega) finished 4th in a very competitive Prix de Ris-Orangis (Gr3) at Maisons-Laffitte. Viscount Barfield (Raven’s Pass) peaks again and comes back only a week after an impressive Darley Grand Handicap des Sprinters win. English raider Stake Acclaim (Acclamation) is consistent at this level and is among the most experienced runners in the field.

The impressive Big Brothers Pride (Invincible Spirit) didn't sparkle at Goodwood but she's back to easier tasks even though this Gr3 is probably better than what it could have been. Ilanga (Penny’s Picnic) was also impressive when she won the Prix Texanita (Gr3) in May over 6 furlongs. She beat Poetry (Kingman) there but the English filly has done better since in Britain. Glass Slipper’s (Dream Ahead) also sails from Britain but she scored at Deauville, last time out in the Prix Moonlight Cloud (L), beating Tertius (Siyouni), also at the start here.

A very hot sprint indeed!
