October 26, 2021, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). - It is the first Gr3 win for the new owner and former NBA star Tony Parker in this Prix Miesque (Gr3)! The manager of Infinity Nine Racing is partnered by Ecurie Des Monceaux, Qatar Racing Limited and Alexandre Giannotti on the winner Mangoustine (Dark Angel). Over the 7 furlongs trip, the 2-year-old filly was never in trouble, confirming handsomely her Critérium de Lyon (L) win at ParillyShe's now unbeaten in three races and has just beat Txope (Siyouni), who runs much better than last time out in the Prix d’Aumale (Gr.3). A good length separates the two fillies at the post and they will probably meet again in the French 2022 Classics.

It was a second victory in the Miesque for trainer Frédéric Rossi after Dream and Do (Siyouni) in 2019, who went on to take the French 1,000 Guineas at Deauville.

Mangoustine hails from a great family. Her dam Zotilla (Zamindar) is a sister to the many good horses foaled by Louvain (Sinndar), a Listed-placed in France mare who won a Grade 3 in the USA. At stud, she gave 13 foals to date including 6 winners. The best is probably Flotilla (Mizzen Mast), winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Gr1) and of the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1,000 Guineas, Gr1) at Longchamp for her come back at 3. As for her brother Big Five (Frankel), he was unbeaten five times and the last one in a Listed race.

Flotilla is in the Tattersalls Breeding sale in November. Zotilla went to the sales on three occasions already: once as a yearling when Meridian International Agency bought her for € 95,000, a second time as a broodmare prospect, consigned by Alain de Royer Dupré and sold for €550,000 to One Agency. Five years later, in 2019, she went back to the same venue, in foal to Zoustar, reaching only €75,000 for Blue Diamond Stud. Mangoustine also went to Arqana in September 2020, when David Redvers bought her for €46,000.
