The last springboard before the Prix Renaud du Vivier 4yo Hurdle (Gr1), run on November 10, the Prix Pierre de Lassus 4yo Hurdle (Gr3) went as expected to its favourite L'Autonomie (Blue Bresil), who dominated from start to finish and left her best opponent, Doctor Squeeze (Doctor Dino), fifteen lengths down the field... Trained by François Nicolle for her breeder-owner Catherine Coiffier, the filly succeeds to Bonito du Berlais, Device, De Bon Coeur and Master Dino.
L’Autonomie is out of L’Automne (Kahyasi), winner of a single flat race in 18 attempts and claimed € 12,000 by Catherine Coiffier after finishing seventh for her last public appearance. Her dam L'Authie (Linamix), a sister of the Prix Royal-Oak (Gr1) 3rd Cléty (Sillery), finished third of the Prix Renaud du Vivier Hurdle (Gr1) and notably gave La Canche (Le Havre), a Listed placed over the flat.
After L’Autonomie, L’Automne gave two Diamond Boy colts. The elder, now a gelding, was sold for € 30,000 to John Daniel Moore at Arqana Summer sales last year, and another one was born in the previous year.
The Montgomery Handicap Chase (Gr3) was the other highlight of the meeting and it went to the top-weight C'est le Bouquet (Coastal Path), already winner of the Grand Steeple of Craon (L). Despite a 11-4 unusually heavy load by French standards, he stayed on and kept It's Jennifer (Martaline) in check all the way. Bred by the Haras de Saint-Voir owned by Nicolas de Lageneste and Maurice Goin, C'est le Bouquet is out of a Langon hurdle winner, Radio Saint-Voir (Robin des Champs), herself a sister to the Grand Steeple winner Sleeping Jack (Sleeping Car), both being out of the extra-tough Miss Noir et Or (Noir et or), winner of eleven races including nine cross-countries, twenty-two times in the first four for a total twenty-seven races over four years ...
