Sunday, September 5, 2021, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - Fourth in the Prix du Jockey Club then ninth over 1m1/2 in the Grand Prix de Paris, Saiydabad (Blame) justified his status as the favourite in the Prix du Prince d’Orange (Gr3) by pushing back a brave Lord Charming (Charm Spirit) to the end.
Unbeaten in three outings before these two failed classic attempts, the Aga Khan US-homebred travelled in the fourth position behind Highland Avenue (Dubawi), who had come to take the lead at the top of the hill despite his 8 draw, and Peter Schiergen-trained Lord Charming, fourth in the German Derby and then in the Bavarian Grand Prix won by Skalleti.
In the home stretch, the Jean-Claude Rouget trainee loomed outside the leaders and finally defeated Lord Charming, second at a short neck without ever giving up. At a good length finished Gregolimo (Galiway), who had travelled in the last row and made a good impression in the end.
Saiydabad is the fourth foal out of Sarkiyla (Oasis Dream) and her first winner. She has also since given a Distorted Humor filly who left unraced Jean-Claude Rouget's stable, a Siyouni colt born in 2020 and a Le Havre colt bred by Gérard Larrieu. Indeed, the mare herself was sold in foal to Le Havre for € 35,000 to Chantilly Bloodstock Agency. Before entering stud, she had won over the mile in the Prix de Lieurey (Gr3) and was second in the Prix Jean Romanet (Gr1) won by Romantica.
