The last Listed-race of the French season goes to England as Roger Varian's 4yo filly Realtra prevails for her return...

Wednesday, December 28th 2016, Deauville. – Fifth to Esoterique (Danehill Dancer) in the 2015 Sun Chariot Stakes (Gr1) at Newmarket, 4yo filly Realtra (Dark Angel) hadn't raced since then but her turn of foot still proved decisive over the Deauville fibresand 1,500m trip in the Prix Miss Satamixa (L). 2nd at 1 1/2 length, French favourite and 2015 Prix Miss Satamixa winner Caointiorn (Stormy River) unfortunately broke down on the post. Via Firenze (Dansili), supplemented by Chantilly-based trainer Pia Brandt finished well to take third place at three parts of a length.

Realtra is trained in England by Roger Varian for owner Yasushi Kubota, who purchased her at the June 2015 Goffs London sale for £290,000. Her dam is a sister to Solid Approach (Definite Article), renamed Supreme Rabbit in Hong Kong, where he won a Group 2.
