Winner last year at the age of 3 of the Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary (Gr1), Prix de Diane Longines (Gr1), Matron Stakes (Gr1) in Ireland and Sun Chariot Stakes (Gr1) in England, over 1m to 10 1/2 furlongs, Laurens (Siyouni) scored a sixth Group 1 on Sunday, at Deauville over the Prix Rothschild (Gr1) mile.

The John Dance-owned star mare, bred in France by Melchior-François Mathet, let the centre field, as usual, and she was cruising with ease despite fast fractions, which explains that she closed the last two furlongs in 12''44 and 13''49 ... The defending champion With You (Dansili) seemed to end very strong with blinkers on to fail by only half a length. The French Obligate (Frankel), undefeated in three races including the Prix de Sandringham (Gr3), finished in third place more than a length behind the first two and after galloping in the "wrong" filed of three horses on the stands' side.

Laurens was bought £ 220,000 yearling at Goffs in England. She is the last foal out of Recambe (Cape Cross), winner at 3 in Clairefontaine and Compiegne, a sister to Hong Kong Classic Mile and Derby winner Helene Mascot (Peintre Célèbre).
