Sandringham : Matematica and the Obligate question

Seven 3-year-old fillies run over the one-mile-long Prix de Sandringham (Gr2) on Sunday at Chantilly. The race has become a consolation race for the ones who could find the right way in the French 1,000 Guineas, on the ParisLongchamp Grande Piste.

Matematica (Rock of Gibraltar) may have been inexperienced when she finished fifth in the French classic, three weeks ago. This is a good opportunity to come back on the winning track even though neither her nor Rocques (Lawman), seventh that day, have any real excuse to claim.

Obligate (Frankel), on the other hand, is now the inexperienced one after a commanding win in the Prix des Lilas on this very course, beating Pure Zen (Zoffany), second that day, and Olympe (Charm Spirit), sixth, and both on the line again.

From England comes Glance (Dansili), a good third for her return in a Listed event at York, and Hidden Mess (Scat Daddy), a less convincing proposition after her return at Ascot, where she finished fourth. Both may have enough class to scramble the cards again should the French misses failing their supporters.
