Six Perfections: Oscula knows better

3 August 2021

oscula

August 3, 2021, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). - Bought for £ 4,000 at Tattersalls, and withdrawn in July from another Newmarket sale, Oscula (Galileo Gold) now counts three wins in six races since her Kempton Park debut in May. She also finished 3rd in the Albany Stakes (Gr3) at Royal Ascot before her 4th placer at Newmarket in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (Gr2), again behind the unbeaten Sandrine, and over 6 furlongs. This time, over the Prix Six Perfections Sky Sports Racing (Gr3) 7-furlong trip, Oscula proved the strongest in the field. Her rider Ryan Moore took the lead from the start and kept her busy so that she wouldn't be challenged by the French favourite Zellie (Wootton Bassett), who finished well indeed but at one and a half length of the British raider, after making up about 3/10th of a second in the last three furlongs, that is about 5 lengths. The 3rd-placed Daneh (Dubawi) was even better with her 34’’01 in the last 3 furlongs against 34’’10 for Zellie …

Oscula is the second foal out of the maiden Bisous Y Besos (Big Bad Bob), who ran once ana d finished unplaced before being sold at Goffs Ireland for €13,000 in foal to her first foal, by Free Eagle. She also gave a Kessaar colt in 2020 who's in the Orby Goffs sale in September.
