October 16, 2021, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - After his Robert Lejeune Hurdle (Gr3) win in front of  Ain’t Got Wings (Martaline), Sans Bruit (Triple Threat) changed owners as Andrew Peake bought in at 50% with the former owner and breeder of the horse, versatile trainer Louis Baudron. The youngster was favourite to win again in the Georges de Talhouët-Roy 3-year-olds' Hurdle (Gr3) despite his 2lbs penalty. However, two newcomers at this level, Golden Son (Martaline) and Imprenable (Chœur du Nord) joined in after an Auteuil success, the former in a handicap and the latter in a Listed Hurdle race.

The three jumpers were together in the late stage of the race, Imprenable joining them last after making up ground inside in the last bend. Sans Bruit was still leading at the second last as he was driven to the outside stands' rail while the two others were happy staying in the middle of the course. Golden Son fought hard against Imprenable and finally took over, winning by a small length over Imprenable, who was carrying one kilo, with the front-runner Sans Bruit third at 2.5 lengths.

Golden Son was bred in the Centre of France by Thierry Cyprès. He's a thoroughbred,  the fifth foal out of Thou in Gold (Gold and Steel), winner of the Gaston de Bataille cross-country Chaser (L) at Pau for her owner-trainer Philippe Peltier. She has since given Gold Filly (Martaline), winner of the Sagan Hurdle (Gr3) at Auteuil, dam of a Masterstroke yearling colt and a Cokoriko weanling filly.
