Six 3-year-old fillies started in the Haras d'Etreham Prix de Chambly (Gr3) on Tuesday, September 17 at Auteuil. The favourite was Want of a Nail (Kapgarde), yet still looking for a first win after four consecutive second places, including one two weeks earlier when Golden Park (Walk in the Park) had to settle in fifth.

No other contender had raced so late and the two fillies immediately took the lead. They were relayed in front in the backstretch, mostly by Gamaline (Martaline), but Golden Park nonetheless came back to the lead in the last turn and finally went off to an easy success. She won with two lengths to spare over the second-placed Kalmia (Authorized), who came from the rear to beat the favourite for this place. Click here for the video of the race ...

Golden Park was bred by Mathieu Daguzan-Garros and was sold privately for €4,000 at the Osazrus Autumn sale last year to Mickaël Seror. Her younger Diamond Green brother found a buyer last July in Deauville for € 38,000!

Golden Park's dam, Goldnella (Goldneyev), won twice over hurdles at Pau at 3. She gave birth to a colt by Night Wish this year.

The six runners of The Fellow - Marquise de Moratalla 4yo Chase (Gr3) were crossing the new jump that replaced the cross river since it was filled with all-weather sand in the days leading up to the race. Fifth in the Prix Ferdinand Dufaure 4yo Chasing Championship (Gr1) in the spring, the AQPS Figuero (Yeats) was the strongest in the field this time, taking the lead at the Stands' River and no longer conceding it. He resisted well the favourite Feu Follet (Kapgarde), who was received 4lbs from his rival but could not use that edge after a slow jump at the main open-ditch. Owned by Pierre Pilarski, he'd won in the spring the French Triumph Hurdle (Gr1) and finished three lengths this second time, two lengths ahead of a promising Kapdam (Kapgarde), who was coming back after 143 days out.

They are all on their way to the Prix Maurice Gillois 4yo Autumn Chasing Championship (Gr1) as the leader of the generation, Goliath du Berlais, is now at stud.

Figuero is the first foald out of AQPS mare Annaland (saint des saints). She has since given four foals including three females by Lord du Sud, Vision d'État and Free Port Lux. A male, now a gelding, by Montmartre was born in 2017. Annaland was trained but she did not run. Her dam Palmaland (Arnaqueur) is a daughter of the very good mare Queensland IV (Citheron), dam of the classy chasers Embiez (Lute Antique) and Cumberland (Cyborg), winner of the Maurice Gillois Chase.
