Saturday, October 14, 2023, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris) - Making his Group debut over the steeplechase course in the €163,000 Héros XII Chase (Gr3), the 5-year-old gelding Incollable (Karaktar). It did not prevent him from taking over down the backstretch at the rail-ditch-and-fence, overtaking the front running Gran Diose (Planteur). He maintained his momentum, and the returning challenger couldn't threaten him, settling for second place, two and a half lengths behind. Always well-positioned in this seven-horse race, AQPS Ho La La Forez (Saddler Maker) secured an excellent third place, two lengths ahead of the favorite La Manigance (No Risk At All), who couldn't get involved in the final battle despite a modest effort at the turn.

Incollable, bred by his owner, Nicolas de Lageneste's Haras de Saint-Voir, was competing in his tenth race and seventh chase. He had recently finished third over hurdles in a race won by La Manigance. He had concluded the spring season with a chasing victory in the Rigoletto Chase (L), winning by a remarkable fifteen lengths.

Commencing his career in June 2021, followed by a fifteen-month absence, he raced only three times at the age of 4. Unfortunately, he unseated his jockey when slipping on landing during his first Auteuil chase after an initial win at Fontainebleau. He made his return only last spring, competing over hurdles at Compiègne before securing his maiden chase victory at Auteuil over an extended two-miler. He then secured a second-place finish to Hermès de Chamdoux (Cokoriko) over 2m6f, the same distance in which he won the Rigoletto Chase, and revisited it here, two outings later.

Nicolas de Lageneste acquired Incollable's second dam, Posh Lady (Peintre Célèbre), a daughter of the Wildenstein mare Vahine (Alysheba), a Us-Bred descendant of the classic mare Virunga. This lineage also includes horses like Verveine, Vallée Enchantée, Victoire Bleue, and Vertical Speed to varying degrees. Vahiné is also the dam of the talented stayer Vendangeur (Galileo). Posh Lady, a winner on the flat in Ireland and over hurdles in Perth, produced Fidèle au Poste (Saint des Saints), a multiple winner over hurdles (including one race at Auteuil) and fences, and Bonne A Marier (Dylan Thomas), the dam of Incollable, who won at Auteuil at the age of 3, being her first foal.

Incollable is also the first foal out of the mare, followed by Jeune Mariée (Saint des Saints), a winner of three jump races at Dieppe, a 3-year-old named Kikounette (Saint des Saints) in training, just like Incollable, under Hugo Mérienne, and a 2-year-old by Doctor Dino and a yearling full sister to the hero of the day.
