Sunday 18th June 2023, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). - A clear victory for the favourite Ramatuelle (Justify) in the €80,000 Prix du Bois Longines-Fonds Européen de l'Élevage (Gr3), which set a new record for the race, now being held for the third year over 6 furlongs at Chantilly instead of 5 furlongs at Longchamp.

Ramatuelle took a good start and settled behind Zorken (Goken), who took the lead despite being drawn 10. The two youngsters engaged on their own in a battle in the final phase, and the filly dominated the colt in the last furlong. She won by a comfortable five lengths, while the 3rd-placed Les Pavots (No Nay Never) returned to her best distance after being defeated over 5 furlongs at Vichy. Always well placed with his draw 2, the British raider Balon d'Or (Kodiac) took fourth place.

Ramatuelle had started with a convincing victory over 5 furlongs in April at Chantilly before settling for second place behind the excellent Beauvatier at Saint-Cloud.

The winner's dam, Raven's Lady (Raven's Pass), was purchased for $300,000 by Yeguada Centurion at the Keeneland breeding sales in November 2019, coming out of training. In Europe, she won the Summer Hill Stakes (Gr3) and the Goldene Peitsche (Gr2), over 6 furlongs, at age 4. She won an optional claiming race on the turf over 1,500 metres in the USA.

Ramatuelle is her first foal and was sold for €100,000 to her current owners at Arqana. The third dam produced the excellent Best of the Bests (Machiavellian), winner of the Prix d'Ispahan (Gr1).

An Uncle Mo Colt was born in 2022.
