The UK’s exit agreement from the European Union for January 31, 2020 has been ratified. A transition period begins on February 1 and will last until the end of 2020, or even later if an extension is decided.

However, France Galop has received confirmation from the Ministries of Agriculture of the United Kingdom, Ireland and France that the movements of horses between the three countries will continue to be carried out according to the rules in force for many years.

The Tripartite Agreement and the terms of movement of equines between the European Union and the United Kingdom are thus extended during the transition period, at least until the end of 2020.

During the transition period, France Galop will continue to participate in negotiations with representatives of the racing and breeding authorities of the three countries to the European Commission and the ministries in order to maintain the simplified procedures which govern the movements of our horses for several decades.
