Well sorted behind the leading Twist 'N' Shake (Kingman), Fount (Frankel) came about two out got the better of her rival to score by half a length, Thursday at Deauville in the Arqana Prix de Lieurey (Gr3) over a mile with one turn.

The favourite Commes (Le Havre) finished well in third place, only beaten by a neck for the second place

The English raider Twist 'N' Shake had just won on this course and distance, beating Fount by three and a half lengths, but the Juddmonte homebred had not run for eight weeks before this latest attempt, while this time, less than four weeks had passed since her last race. Commes was downright coming back: she had not run since her second place in the Prix de Diane Longines (Gr1), more than eight weeks ago.

It was the fifth race for Fount, who did not race at 2. She is the fourth foal out of Ventura (Chester House), winner of four Gr1s in the United States for Khalid Abdullah, and whose dam, Estala (Be My Guest) won the Prix Isola Bella (L) in Evry. Fount's oldest sister, At Your Pleasure (War Front) was sold last December in Tattersalls, England for £ 175,000 to Haras d'Etreham.
