Pau racecourse is at its best this weekend with two great meetings on the cards on Friday and Sunday.

The Prix Camille Duboscq 4yo Hurdle (L) opened the festivities on Friday with the gray filly Naturelle (Martaline) defeating Bai de Baie (Gris de Gris) as the front-running favourite Laterana (Saint des Saints) had to settme for third 6 lengths behind. The winner was bred by Haras du Mézeray and owned by the Moussac family. Trained at Senonnes, in the West of France, by Alain Couétil, Naturelle came by in the final lap and took over as they were turning in. She held off Bai de Baie's final attack while Laterana (Saint des Saints) couldn't cope with them anymore. Second to Duc de Méran (Nathaniel) for her Pau debuts after winning over hurdles at Auteuil, for her second attempt over jumps, Naturelle was still unsol at Arqana in November at €85,000. Her dam Adamantina (Muhtathir), winner on the flat, is out of Belle du Brésil (Akarad), bred by Baroness de Waldner and whose legacy is filled with useful winners, notably the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano (Gr2) winner Pinson and the good jumping mare Avenue Marceau.

On Sunday, February 3rd, the Grand Cross de Pau-Reverdy, Prix Gaston de Bataille (L), 1st leg of the Crystal Cup, the Prix du haras de Saint-Vincent – Prix Antoine de Palaminy 4yo Chase (L), and the 132st Grande Course de Haies de Pau – Prix Antoine de Ginestet (L) will take place on Pau racecourse.

The meeting will draw to its end on Tuesday, February 5th.
