Sunday, May 14, 2023, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - The strong favourite for the Prix de Saint-Georges (Gr3), held on the straight 5 furlongs at ParisLongchamp, the English raider White Lavender (Heeraat) easily dominated the race. Finishing second on this course in the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp in October, Karl Burke's trainee had recently disappointed in her comeback race at Bath, where her rider reported that she had hung under pressure. This time, she led from start to finish, leaving her compatriot Perdika (Unfortunately), who had beaten her at Bath, to take second place, one and a half lengths behind. Forza Capitano (Captain Marvelous), who rose from the handicaps fields and is also Listed-placed, finished one length behind in third.

White Lavender was not sold, but her Capella Sansevero yearling colt made £125,000 at Tattersalls last October. It is an excellent family of sprinters that includes notable horses such as Harry Angel (Dark Angel), Pierre Lapin (Capella Sansevero), and the Hong Kong miler Xtension (Xaar).
