Favorite after her Queen Mary Stakes (Gr2) win on June 20 at Royal Ascot, Signora Cabello (Camacho) won Sunday's Darley Prix Robert Papin (Gr2), first round of the #DarleySeries at Maisons-Laffitte.

Trained in North Yorkshire by John Quinn, the filly held off French colt Sexy Metro (Diamond Green), beaten by a neck after seeming able to overtake the winner about 100 yards from the post.

The winner was ridden by Lanfranco Dettori, and won Sunday for the fourth time in a row.

The first two at the post on Sunday are expected to meet again on August 19 in the final leg of the #DarleySeries, the Darley Prix Morny (Gr1), over 6 furlongs.

By then, the Darley Prix de Cabourg (Gr3), in which 33 colts and fillies are entered, will be run on July 29 on the Deauville straight course to reveal the main challengers of the Darley Prix Robert Papin winners in the juveniles' squad.

Bred in Ireland, Signora Cabello is owned by Phoenix Thoroughbred and Zen Partnership. She cost £20,000 as a yearling at Tattersalls in Newmarket, where she was bought by Richard Knight Bloodstock and Sean Quinn. Like the champion sprinter Kingsgate Native (Mujadil), her 3rd dam is Spanish Habit (Habitat), dam of the classic filly Las Meninas (Glenstal).
