A race associating its 18 runners to charities, the Charity Mile is scheduled on Saturday at Cagnes-sur-mer, under the Princess Charlène of Monaco's patronage.
The 18 runners of the Saturday Quinté + race in Cagnes-sur-mer will as usual represent their owners but also the charity organizations to which they are associated in this first edition of the Charity Mile, an event sponsored by Princess Charlène of Monaco.
According to the result of the handicap race, € 50,000 will be distributed by donors to the associations devoted to the world of horse and races, animal welfare and childhood paired with all the horses competing: € 10,000 to the first, € 6,000 to the second, € 4,000 to the third and € 2,000 € to all other participants.
Leading riders Pierre-Charles Boudot and Christophe Soumillon, competing this year for the champion jockey title, have each offered to give away their winnings of one day to associations involved in the Charity Mile.
The draw took place Thursday morning at the Monaco Yacht Club in the presence of the Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur's President, François Forcioli-Conti.
