August 3, 2021, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). - The 2021 Prix Rothschild (Gr1), a race for fillies and mares run over the straight mile, went to the brave Irish raider Mother Earth (Zoffany) who beat the Aga Khan's Sagamiyra (Sea the Moon), Speak of the Devil (Wootton Bassett) and Rougir (Territories). The four first home passed the post within half a length.

Yet Mother Earth did not get the best trip as she had to take the lead quite early and fought back all the way down to the wire. Her trainer Aidan O’Brien already won the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix de Diane Longines, this season in France. The filly also won the One Thousand Guineas this season and was then second in the French equivalent, 3rd in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and finally also third in the Falmouth Stakes.

She was bought for €150,000 at Goffs Ireland. Her dam Many Colours (Green Desert) was owned by Godolphin, and trained by Jim Bolger, but was sold as a broodmare in 2016, in foal to Night of Thunder, for €50,000. The resulting colt won the Premio Dormello (Gr2) at 2 at San Siro.
